Outcome Self-rescued 
Description Women’s eight on outing returns upstream & is unexpectedly swamped by area of rough water. Experienced cox quells panic & urges crew to remain seated as crew sinks almost to armpits. Within 5 minutes boat drifts against landing stage enabling crew to scramble out. Crew members say only luck prevented tragedy
