Outcome various eights, about 145 in all Outcome - chaos, but all rescued by RNLI. 2 taken to hospital. 
Description Dozens of rowers had to be rescued from the River Thames after a boat race (the Veterans' Head of the River Race) was hit by the windy weather causing multiple sinkings. RNLI Lifesavers had to rescue 34 people from the water and 2 were taken to hospital. A race on the same stretch had been cancelled the previous day due to high winds.
