back to listing

Date Feb 2004
Location Tideway
Water Temperature unknown
Boat(s) involved 8+
Boat Construction Empacher
Outcome Boat swamped by wake, crew made it to shore.
Description Wash from a cruiser added to rough water meant that the boat took on more and more water, crew stopped around Barnes Elms to head for the bank as their boat sank under the waves. With the crew nearly up to their waists in water while standing in the boat, there was no option but to ditch, though thankfully they were close to the shore by this time and everyone got out OK.
